Some hilarious kill stories!!!

If you thought that some of the civic groupies were bad, check this out -

http://www.streetkiaz.com/viewforum.php?forum=3

These guys must all be high. They're racin stuff I woulnd't even challenge in my max. Fact of the matter is, their cars weren't meant for racing, but then again, neither were ours. The maxima was built for power and comfort, though - we get both. Their's were built as a budget car. It's 4cyl and the hp is probably just in the 3 digits. I'm not sayin they're bad cars, but someone needs to get these peeps in line.

Some of those people have NOS, which explains a lot.

That's insane

I seriously can't believe that people actually race KIA's. According to their kills, they've beaten 2000 Mustangs? They can't be serious.

oh wow, i seriously doubt that 90% of their "races" involved cars aware of the race, my parents rented a kia once, they said it rattled like it was going to fall apart at 40mph! these races at 80 must of felt like they were off roading as bad as i bet it shook

One of them actually claims to make 198 hp at the wheels NA. No nitrous, no turbo, nothing. How do you go from like 80hp at the wheels to 198 without boost? Looks like some of them have been adding the claimed hp on their product boxes. And another claims to have beaten a Mustang Cobra? That's starting to stretch things just a little...On the other hand, I've seen more outrageous claims here.

Hahaha...look at the first post there, "Cars that beat me 98 BMW M5". First he lists all the other cars he supposedly beat, and then he lists the M5 like it wasn't really supposed to beat him but he probably wasn't 'aware' of the race or something, so he maybe he'll get the M5 next time, I heard it's not that fast (yeah rite) . And the type of cars he listed, lexus ES and benz E class, people in that type of cars (especially ES's) usually aren't the racing type, so maybe they were just cruising and he thought he was hanging with them.

Best part is, there wasn't a '98 M5.

Yeah but then again guys...we can make as much fun of them as we want, but supposedly some of those guys do have a lot of mods (especially NOS) so you never know, I know they're not beating no M5 but some of the other kills (such as lexus ES) might be true. But the sad thing...that guy is saying that he is almost running about 200 horsepower WITH his mods (including NOS), and our 4th gens come with about the same hp STOCK . And if we mod our cars a little bit, and hook up NOS, then 'foget bout it'! But itz all good, not everyone can have a maxima.

Hey, I'm not makin fun of them. They got a car brand new for the same price it would have cost us to get a used 4th gen so no one flame me for going after a budget car. Some of these guys just have a bad case of BS. Problem is, even with NOS, those cars have the same hp as most of us have stock. And if they took on some of these people they list, they must be going through NOS like it's going out of style. To keep up with most of the cars listed, they'd have to have sprayed EVERY time. The only car that can't beat a kia is probably a geo or something. Mabye a few stock civics and some fellow budget car owners. I'm also wondering where they're getting a lot of their mods from. Does kia really have that many aftermarket parts availible for them? I thought the maxima was bad when it came to modding. Sheesh, they must have to custom fab just about everything they slap on there.

What I don't get is why would someone get a KIA . But then again everyone has their choices and budgets to meet, but personally I would get something like a used maxima for the same price rather than going with a brand new kia/civic or whatever (and that's what I did). It's just that some people don't like getting used cars and they'd rather get a brand new car even if that means going to lower class model. But in any case, I'll be on the lookout for any news about a Kia blowing up because it was using too much NOS while racing an M5.

Every car type has a page full of people boasting about their kills - when I had my '95 Taurus (140 hp / 160tq) with custom CAI w/9" K&N cone filter, MSD6a, 9mm wires, exhaust and all the works I was able to hang with my wife's 95 GP 3.1 with 160hp and 180tq. That's a lot of crap for 20 extra horsies - maybe $1000 spent.

But then my low-mounted cone filter had an unexpected meeting with a particularly deep puddle after a fierce rainstorm, and my engine got hydrolocked. Bust the #1 rod quicker than you can say; "Sh*t!" Engine was toast. Car was only 4yrs old. Could only afford a junkyard engine with 60k on it and from then on it never ran correctly. Finally dumped it when I realised I was spending $300/mo in repairs - more than the car payment!

So I decided I wanted a car fast enough to keep my happy (at least for now) with no mods. My '96 5spd is that car.

So let them spend $1000s of dollars trying to double the power of their cars or whatever crap they claim. Give them anouth 10k miles and they'll be trading the car for something better. How many Kia Sephia owners would buy another one?

(I'm glad they didn't claim an LS400 as a kill - those puppies have the same 0-60 as a 5spd 4G - about 6.6-6.7s I would take one on, but not be surprised to see it hang, or beat me...

Hellz yeah...the LS 400/430's are fast with their V8's. I read somewhere that even though the LS doesn't have a sporty shape, it's still very aerodynamic and has the lowest drag coefficent out of all the Lexus models (even lower than the GS). I was pretty surprised to find that out (and impressed).

:)

The guys over at offtopic went over there last week and crashed there board. Was fun hehe. Look for a guy named streetkia or superkia I can't remember, he posted a kill on a cobra mustang. The thing is, he used NoS and blew the motor beating the Cobra. (So He says) He even called it a kill even tho the mustang is still running. hehe

a civic with just a basic engine swap can run low 14's and 13's come easy to them all motor. fastest all motor civic might be in the 10's 11's? i'm still trying to push my maxima into the all motor 13's but it's just a dream for now because our cars are so f****** heavy (2,970 lbs when i'm in racing form)and we have next to nothing for an aftermarket on internals!! sorry i was just venting. it's time for an SR20DET in a 240sx.
