5 speed 96 maxima with 211k still runs mint

transmission in first gear clicks loud?
sometimes in second also..not as loud tho

checked the fluid and for leaks..etc
no signs of anything out of the ordinary

shifts smooth every gear

 

Sound more like CV joint

 

wouldnt a cv joint only click if i was turned?

 

I have the exact same problem, I have a 96 5mt with 200k+ as well. I don't remember exactly what it was, but i was told it needs a rebuild. It still shifts fine so I'm waiting to see what happens.

Btw, I've had this problem for almost 2 years now.

 

Oh,,, Im sorry,,, I thought you meant driving in first or second.

 

It can also be if your too slammed it's putting too much stress on the cv joints and it starts clicking. Mine is like that and I'm slammed on some coilovers. So when I lift it up a bit more then the clicking goes away. It's weird.

 

hey guys i have an 98 max auto trans,it winds loud when in reverse and drive.Please help me out.it winds with load then goes away til i slow down again
