Anyone have the chrome pillar posts?

Just curious to what everyone thinks about the chrome pillar posts. I've got a 03 GLE that has the chrome trim and door handles and was thinking of adding the pillar post trim to match. The car is pearl white so I think the chrome might look alright. Thumbs up or down on this mod?

Thanks.

I've never seen a car of any make or model that looked even half way decent with chrome pillars no matter how much chrome is on the rest of the car. That includes maximas.

+1. Instead of adding more chrome, buy some Trimbrite blackout tape and get rid of it all. Paint your door handles white or swap out for color-matching ones. It looks ten times better that way.

Please no. This is the same as adding "wood grain" stick on plastics to your interior.

The only reason it doesnt look as bad is because the picture was taken at night with terrible background lighting. So the chrome doesnt pop as much. Chrome is one of those things that can very easily be overdone. But at the same time, when properly positioned can bring the car to another level of class.

My car for instance, will keep the factory chrome window trim, grill, and door handles. This is because it flows well with the choice of wheels and color of the car. Adding any extra chrome or blacking anything out, will throw off the "good chrome" balance that I have going. Every car is different though. But those chrome pillars FAIL regardless of the car/setup 99.8% of the time.

Looks like no to chrome. Has anyone painted the chrome trim around the windows black? If I get that done the chrome on the door handles will be painted also. I'm also going to have the factory grille painted the pearl white. Thanks for the advice.
