The transmission fluid is supposed to be replaced at 60000 miles. But supposedly a Nissan dealer can test the fluids level of deterioration using the Nissan Consult, which is Nissans diagnostic reader tool. So I guess, if they check it, they will know if it should be changed early.

Lol, you do your maintenance based on if your car does not drive fine? YOU ARE 40yo, YOU SHOULD KNOW!!! My bad, just kidding. I mean your car is at 40k. I know no major service is required at 40k. That is if you had done 15k and 30k major services.

Check your manual and see all what you needed to have done at 30k. If you have done those, well, nothing major is required at 40k. Check your manual, please.

I was talking about the factory 3yr or 36k mi factory warranty. I just had them change tranny oil at 30k mi. Extended warranties they offer will usually take you out to 100k mi or 6 yrs but are expensive at around $1500 I've been quoted

Even though I drive highway, I took the "extreme driving" track and changed at 32000, 65000, and 100K. Do you have to change that often, obviously not, but as this was my first CVT and I really liked the ride I decided to "pamper" her.

Maintenance (pic of guys head) others

I have a 2009 Maxima and the little screen in the dash has a "Maintenance Others" light lit. Any suggestions on how to get it reset? Nissan wants me to come in do the 42500 maintenance for $150, but ive already done mostly everything they include.

I bought the extended warranty 5yr/ 100,000 miles got mine for $995.00 I declined the first offer at $1,500 and they came back 10mins later with the price of $995.00 this tends to be a normal thing if you decline it at first
