Opinions on Lc-1 that needs repair

I found a lc-1 kit thats for sale on another forum, but the guy said it needs to be sent back to innovate and be repaired because there was a wire exposed and while the unit powers up, he said it reads "error". My question is, would it be worth it to buy if for 55 shipped, and send it to innovate and have them repair the unit? Or would I be better off buying a new one instead? Or one that actually works? Im very new to tuning so i dont know what would benefit me. The one he is selling looks like this here.

well, it depends on how much it costs to repair (if it CAN be repaired).

from a cost perspective, it could be very beneficial because the o2 sensor alone is around $50 or more.

from a reliability/performance perspective, what if it never works like normal again or it breaks prematuraly again?

i say find out how much itll cost to repair...and judge from there. if its not too much, i say go for it. and if it doesnt work out, maybe theyll give u credit towards another one, plus youll have a back up o2 sensor for the future. then it becomes a win-win situation.

Buy it!
When I had the LC-1 I also got the error display after running it for a few weeks.
Read on the Innovative forums about it, and apparently is was a very common thing for many others as well.
So I contacted Innovative about it and they told me to send it back and they sent me a brand new repalcement free of cost....................
Which I sold as soon as I recieved it.
