Did i fry my MAF?

I have been having hard starting issue. I start the car most times it starts normally but sometime it will idle down too low and not recover i have to give it gas then its fine, never idles hard or stalls at stop lights. So anyways i decided to unplug the MAF to see what changes.

Well i did a dumb thing i unplugged it while it was running and pluged it back it.

unplugging it made a slight dip in RPM but plugging it in stalled the car. So i just drove home with the CEL on and today i disconnected the battery to let the code reset it didnt.

so not the car is real sluggish throughout the power band. I have not been able to reproduce the hard starts but it hasnt been long enough to say limp mode(no maf) changed the hard starts.

anyways did i fry it? Or should i get a code scanner hooked up and reset the CEL 1st?

...ohh on a side note, do you guys see a noticable gain in power from like 3/4 throttle to WOT? or is this a symptom?

Its pretty damn easy to mess up your maf....a slight know could cause it not to work. Also, if you can rev your car past 2500 rpm when it is plugged in, then it's probably not your maf

try plugging it in, and starting the car. If it doesn't rev over 2500 rpm, your maf is toast. Do a reset of your own.
Down by the gas peddle there is a box (your ecu). It has a flat head screw type thing on the exterior of it. Turn it till it stops, wait a sec, it'll blink your codes, and then turn it back all the way. your ecu is now reset and you have your codes...read the stickeys for code references and what the beeps mean. Should be short beeps followed by long beeps...well not beeps, but the light blinks..

anytime the MAF is unplugged with the car running, u will get a CEL. plug it back in and Drive the car 100-200 miles and it will go away. Happened to me once. Although, it wasnt sluggish or anything while the light was on. It might be toast. U try to usually hard start remedies?

yeah, ive been doing reg spring cleaning stuff. Runing down the list might as well its good for her. I just flushed tranny 20k ago, coolant i did a week ago, TB i should do again it was 10 months but it was pretty dirty could use more.

ohh, the sluggish could be a bad reading on the butt dyno, i swear it felt fine last night. lol

i'll prolly reset the code today to make sure the light will stay off. i wanted to confirm the knock sensor code hasnt come back anyways.since its a ghost code.
