Supra MECHANIC VS maxima Im DUMBFOUNDED

Hello everyone i would like to say thank you for having me on board your site. This is my first post and am looking forward to enjoying the great benefits of this site. I am a new maxima owner as I just have purchased a 95 maxima as a daily driver and have added maxima to my list of cars in the garage..I have been working on cars for a bit, i never went to school for it but ive modded and worked on my own cars as well as others for a few years now..heres where im stumped..

I recently changed the water pump on the car along with the belt tensioner..normal steps like always..make sure piston 1 is at tdc..remove tensioner then water pump and replace..pretty simple. Here is where it gets tricky..i started the car and it started right up and drove it around the block to test run it..It worked fine..Then It ran out of gas ..When I filled it back up the car wouldnt start..My first thought was i burned the fuel pump..checked and it was fine..my next thought was change the fuel filter, so I did..Then I removed the fuel hose and turned the ignition to see if fuel was being delivered and it was..TO ADD to this i push started the car to see if it turned over and it did..it idles nice very quiet no noise..i Can rev the engine and it purrs like a kitten..quieter then my supra..now once i put it in first gear and begin to drive it shuts offs..completely..still have electrical power..its like the engine is jumping into a safe mode.so i pop the clutch again and it starts back up..what am i missing here?? it cranks but doenst make that last effort to turn over..im 1 day away from removing the timing coer to check cam gear alignment and see...but any ideas would help. Thanks

I had a Grand Am once that had a weak fuel pump and did similar things. At first it would sputter going up hills under a load but it was fine driving around on level ground. That kept getting worse and it eventually would start up, idle fine, I could rev it up, but when I put it in drive it would quit. I'm thinking it was that sudden increased load of putting it in gear making it go lean and die. A new fuel pump fixed it. Long story short, just because you are getting fuel to the engine doesn't mean it's enough. Check your fuel pressure.

Welcome to the site ,
I would check all connections to these censors and test them the crank pos sensors both of them and the cam pos sensor. All so check the wires that go to the crank sensor under the crank pulley they get nasty mine were if that dont work than retrace your steps and good luck.

I think you replace the banjo bolt with one that has a schrader valve. Its included in most fpr tester kits.
