Car Wreck!!! Now windows wont roll up????

Jus got in an accident with my maX. Some cab driver wasnt looking and ran right into my driver side! Was trying to get the windows to roll up, the driver window got shattered on impact. The windows were working up until later on in the day. I dont know wat went wrong, just trynna get them up until I can put the car in the shop, and get it repaired. I checked the fuses in the car, but there is none for the windows, and I also checked the fuses under the hood, but they appear good. Even the power locks dont work now, I tried to change the master switches out, but Got the same thing, I only here the click from the lock timer. Any suggestions?

Regulators may be thrown off or broken. Take door panels off and check.

I hope I can at least get them to come up soon, The wire harness that goes to the driver door is exposed a bit, so everytime I open the door, it gets pinched a little so I try not to open the door too wide. Turns out I may just need another door and front fender, which I can install myself.

If you can still hear something from the windows, maybe the regulators' plastic holders were only cracked then completely detached from the assembly which causes a free regulator.

If your car needs a door, front fender, window, wiring fixed, matched paint, etc., odds are good that your 18 year-old car with 250k is totaled. You might want to try and buy it back from the insurance company for a couple hundred if you can fix it yourself.

check the fusible links at the battery. possible you have a cut wire in the door harness and popped one of the fusible links or the fuse.

I checked the powerwindow fuse near the battery, and everything else in the door works except the window switch. The light comes on when I open the door, and the door speaker still works, and also the trunk lock. I guess I wont know until the door comes off and everything.

Well you may be right man, But this has been the best car Ive ever owned, also most reliable, aside from replacing the tranny in her last year, Ive never driven a car this long and spent a good bit of money on nor have I learned so much about how to fix on and repair one car! I hate to see the car in such bad shape, the door doesent even close all the way now. It would b kinda hard to part ways with it, but I may still just fix her up, even if the insurance company totals the car.

Like I said, try to buy it back if you really like it.

If you get some money from the insurance, you could probably find another one. 93 GXEs aren't the rarest cars in the world. You could swap in your newer trans and be good to go for a while.

******PLEASE HELP**********************************

It is snowing outside!!!!!!!! Can't roll windows up!

Help I have a similar problem. Yellow key light on. Cant turn on the accessory. Cant roll up windows (hard key doesn't work). I live in Alaska. 100 MILES FROM THE DEALER.

I've changed the car battery, the primary fob battery, and have tried the back up fob.

My brake lights do work.

I've noticed that the steering wheel lock is not engaging though.

All the while, though, the yellow light stays on while I'm seated in the car with either or both keys.

Yes I've tried to sit key in key boot. without any changes. Not even sure why they put that in the car.

And Yes, I've checked all the fuses.

the quick fix to roll up the windows is to manually access the the window motor and apply straight 12v+ to the motor to roll up the window ....

do you have an aftermarket alarm/remotes? Something might have gone haywire with that. Since you tried two fobs, it could be the alarm main cpu or some wire to it is shorted.

Steering wheel lock is not engaging. I guess that means something with the ignition switch?
