98 with a 3.5 swap

I went to the track last friday for test and tune. I wanted to get a baseline to see where I am. My first run ended up being my best run. The car was heat soaked from driving 3 hours plus renting the dyno for an hour before the track. I was able to get one run in when the car had cooled off, but I spun so badly I ran a 14.0x
rt .419
60' 2.150
330 5.794
1/8 8.769
mph 82.50
1000 11.309
1/4 13.442
mph 105.60

I was running at full street trim minus a spare tire and jack. The car is a 98 GXE with full leater i30 interior. I was running on my 18" enkei RP02's. Now the stuff that you guys want to know:
3.5 swap
VLSD tranny
JWT S1 knockoff cams
JWT POP charger
NWP spacers and BOP (otherwise stock FWD intake manifold)
JWT ECU
VAFCII
OBX headers
Catco high flow cat
Cattman 3" exhaust

Over all I am very happy with the results, I think 12's are possible just with smaller wheels and tires. I had traction problems the whole night, but once the car cooled down when I shifted to second at redline it felt like I was doing a rolling burn out I am even spinning 3rd gear pretty hard which was surprising to me. Next time I go to the track I will have tires. I also think I may see good gains from a SSIM. I have a few videos but of course I don't have my best run. I'll try to get them up soon. Post away.

Me too. I just did not have enough time to get everything together. Since I was already driving a few hours away to dyno, I was just trying to tie everything together while I was in the area. I still need to figure out the smallest wheel I can fit over my 12.8" brakes/with superlites. Even with these times I was surprising a lot of people, a lot of people were surprised when I had my hood poped and I did not have any forced induction

Good. I want to make a dyno thread but I don't know how to view these .drt files. If I cannot figure it out I will scan in a print out I have.

SSIM will probably be my next mod when I have some time, and I will have slicks before I go to the track again. I kinda doubt I will do emanage, but you never know.

Nice numbers. 12s are definitely within reach. Get some 15" wheels with some 24.5 slicks and you'll be there.

Well that's gonna make getting a nice tire pretty hard then.

They don't make any slicks that fit a 17" wheel.

They do, but they're rare. http://moesperformance.com/index.php...ducts_id=12401

Of course, I'm not so sure about buying tires from a company where no one knows how to spell 'diameter'.

Good luck with a 28" tire.

That's a 28" tall tire. That won't work well for his combo.

Not sure where to find that. But I think that the slip that I posted I ran around 6-7 pm. I was at Virginia Motorsports Park, in Dinwiddie VA.

Looks like the DA was 580. I was curious to see if better weather would get you a few more tenths but it looks like the conditions were pretty good.

yeah, the weather was not bad at all. As the sun went down it was getting more humid though.
