should i get a new a muffler or should the one i have sound good if i put a catalytic converter on?

what kind of muffler do you guys have with or with out a catalytic converter and how does it sound (include videos if you have any)

Nice. I have a question since we have the same trim and year, did you replace the muffler by your self? If yes, how?

just get the mandrel bent piping me, James, and Cmax got from that group deal. you can now get it online

http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...ima/Categories

it has the piping and hanging kit, you just need a resonator and muffler. im running no catalytic converter (they dont care what you do to your exhaust here)

i just did the piping, OBX racing resonator, and GSX-71 can. sounds amazing, ive gotten nothing but compliments on it. no sound clips yet, i'll try to soon. its a deep sound

Thank you very much

P.S. what size pipe did you went with? I have a warpspeed ypipe i got from a forum member waiting to install.

wouldn't a second resonator restrict the exhaust fumes alittle causing performance lost?

Or place a flange there...I did a slip fit w/an exhaust band clamp @ the rear muffler and a U clamp aft of the resonator...

A second resonator is the best solution. Many companies sell "test pipes" that replace the cat with a straight through pipe or for a little more money make a test pipe with a resonator. The resonator will quiet the exhaust down without restricting the flow as much as a cat. As a bonus, the resonator will cost you less than a cat so its a win-win.

So it's sounds good as in loud, or good as in not too much drone or buzz? I'd be very curious to her any sound clips/see any videos. I'm in a similar position of needing new exhaust. The Y pipe is leaking, and the cat back is looking fairly rusty, so if I'm going to do anything I might as well do it all. The issue is I want to buy something that isn't going to cost almost as much as the rest of the car is worth, that's going to fit properly, and that will sound good, no drone or annoying buzz. It seems like exhaust shops around here are next to impossible in terms of finding anyone who can custom bend or fit pipe. Most just want to go OEM because they know it'll fit, and the OEM parts here are ridiculously expensive so I can't bring myself to go that route.

What I was looking into was the WarpSpeed Y pipe and mandrel bent kit listed here, but I talked to Dallas from WarpSpeed this week and all they have are Y pipes and the cat for $285 shipped. I found the same Pacesetter/Monza cat back here for about $285. I've never bough anything from autopartsdealer.com before though. If I could get the kit above with a decent muffler and resonator I'd be interested in that too.

video skills, will get a better one later tomorrow. this was in rush hour and couldnt really step on it because cops here go after loud exhaust

0:50 on is a decent place to start, i''ll try zip tying my camera to my harness bar tomorrow to get it more stable
