So suddeenly the car began to fart really loud...

Hello.
Anyway, my exhaust system is fairly rusted through. Today, between the main cat under the car to the exhaust, the pipe there simply broke off. Now, my Y pipe is still intact with the hanging off cat. Question is; what is that pipe's name that is between the cat and the muffler?

Second, can i buy this pipe somewhere that would have a direct connection to the y pipe without the connection for the cat, because the main cat has no O2 sensors, and i doubt il be able to reuse that rusted piece of junk...

Also, is there anywhere a reasonably priced y pipe for my 01 maxima? Mine is also will rush completely through at the flex section eventually. So far, im looking at this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WARPSPEED-MAXIMA-INFINITI-EXHAUST-Y-PIPE-2001-VQ30 _W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45f1fe1a49QQitemZ30041 2705353QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Thanks.

1. Called a B-pipe.
2. No. But you can buy a test pipe to take the cats place. If noticed then you wont pass emmissions.
3. Search a little for price and quality reviews.

Perhaps a muffler shop could weld in a new section of pipe.
