Labor quote (hours) for '00 Y-pipe replacement and AC fan resistor replacement?

Looks like I found an OEM y-pipe to replace my b0rked one, found it here on the org for $80 shipped. Hopefully I can Paypal for it tomorrow and have it shipped and maybe on my doorstep Wednesday to be worked on Thursday (I have to make a short but necessary overnight trip to Buffalo on Friday).

I'd replace it myself but I think I'll have my shop do it (he's a classic car, small-town kinda guy, he's a bit slow, but thorough)...

FWIW I'm betting that my front cat bolts are gonna be a biotch, they were that way on the rear when the Megan full catback was installed.

Then there's that damn resistor for the fan motor. As I said in a previous thread, the off position, and HIGH works for heat and AC, but the intermediate speeds don't. I mean, I'm partially inclined to do that myself, but I only like to dig so far into my dash at this point, so I may have them take care of that.

What kind of total hours might I be looking at here?

Thanks.

The Y pipe will take all the time. The fan resistor is 5 minutes.

Completely irrelevant and worthless answer; awesome trolly way to raise post count.

And just to entertain, I would if a damn tumor in my chest didn't hurt so bad.

Yeah, really. I'd totally do this on my own, but I'm kinda in some pain.

However... that fan resistor replacement... I was looking at the diagrams and it looked like I had to dig pretty deep into there... is it really easy? 'm pretty handy at the dash disassembly, and if I don't have to get too far up in there then I might entertain doin' it myself.

Once the glove box is removed, it's right in front of you.

You don't have to remove the glove box. Just look up from the footwell and it is easily accessable.

^^If you want to lay across the door sill on your ribs. The glove box comes out in 5 minutes or less if you've done it b4.

and taking out the bottom 2 screws of the glove box is about the same as taking out the fan resistor.
