Where is this located and what tool(s) do you need to get it off. Thanks.

The camshaft position sensor is located on the front timing chain cover. Facing the passenger side of the engine it's the sensor located a couple inches to the right of the side engine mount and a couple inches directly above the adjuster for the pulley to the AC and alternator belt. There is nothing else in that area. Don't know the tool yet though.

A 10 mm socket and a long thin screwdriver for the connector
The ckps that was mentioned above is for top dead center ONLY not ignition timing that one is located next to the transmission bell housing behind the radiator on the engine block one 10 mm bolt an a 3 wire connector
Use the long thin flathead to gently pry the connector and sensor apart DO NOT damage the connector

This is what leaks oil eventually, right? I heard the o-ring needs to be replaced when that happens...

Yea theres no need to replace it if its still functioning. Once you remove it youll see an o-ring at the end of it..you can remove the o-ring and take both the ring and sensor to a hardware store to find an oring which will fit properly at the end of the sensor..then pop it back in..done deal...Quick cheap EASY fix...

Are you having a problem with it? Mine died a couple of years ago and the car wouldn't start, but it gave the correct diagnostic code and was an easy fix.
