Installing aftermarket leather is a pita...

Today I started working on my aftermarket leather setup from Leatherseats.com. Since I currently have leather Prelude seats in my Max right now, I started working on my stock factory front seats. It took me about 3 hours to do the passenger seat. Getting the "hog rings" on is a pita when the clearances are tight. I did the driver's seat in about 1.5 hours due to learning the shortcuts from the first seat. Tommorrow I'll do the rear seat which I've heard is very easy. Right now, I'm just worried about putting in the door inserts. My hands are beat up to say the least.

The front seats look incredible. I've got the black with a graphite center sections with "SE" in the seat. The quality is awesome. The leather is grained and very thick which means it's much better than the factory 4th gen leather and grips better too. The fit is perfect and tight (maybe too tight sometimes ).

To anyone who's installed aftermarket leather, I admire you. It has been a bit frustrating at times and it's one of the hardest jobs I've done on my car. I figure it will take me 6 hours to install the leather on the seats. Who knows about the door inserts though.

The seat are a two tone leather. The outside is black while the middle is graphite. It's a perfect contrast. The leather also seems to increase bolstering somewhat and the seats looks 3Xs more expensive.

Confused:
I've been trying to sell the Prelude seats locally, but I've had little luck because I haven't been trying too hard. I've looked up on UPS and USPS about possibly shipping the seats and everytime I try to enter in the size of the shipping box (24" X 24" x 36") the system says the size of the box exceeds shipping limitations. I find it hard to believe they wouldn't ship a box that's 2' wide and 3' high and only weighs 27 lbs. I've inputed a size of 24" x 24" X 30" and it says shipping is $28 a box via ground. I may try calling UPS and see what they say. I'll probably post the Prelude seats in the for sale section for $275 firm plus shipping.

Yep, they look like that. The only difference is that the center is a dark graphite.

Dave - what's the procedure for taking out the door inserts? I tried "popping" them out with a flat blade screwdriver and got absolutely no where - looked like i was going to rip the vinyl on the door! How do you go about removing the insert?
