I think I saw a 2K2 blow its engine!
I was on a C230amg benz 6 speed test drive following a white 2k2 when all of sudden a burst of black smoke then a trail of it then he put his hazards on and pulled over. He did not look to happy at all.

that sucks 
OT but I saw a pathfinder go on fire last week, That fire was huge, the whole hood was burning & the flame on the hood is over the windshield, a lot of ppl pulled over to help that guy but it was too late when I saw it because it was the hwy & I'm doing like 120km/h.

Hopefully whatever happened the dude is covered under warranty. That's not good for it to happen so soon. I freaked out when my headlamps/parking lamps didn't work when my car was new, I can't imagine how a person would feel to have a sweet 255 hp motor toasted already! 
Odd. I was at the Nissan dealership yesterday and a couple of guys driving a Quest pulled in to the service dept. and that thing looked like it was riding on a cloud (e.g. thick smoke coming from below it)

The only C-class with AMG would be the C32 with the S/C V6 349 HP 
and the older C36

The only current AMG model in the C lineup is the C32, which replaced the C43. There is no such car as a C230 AMG. The C230 is a small, inexpensive (by MB standards) coupe/hatchback. But there is no AMG version currently. There may be one in the future.
So either, you, your salesman, the dealership or all of the above don't know what they are talking about.

The 6 speed manual is not an option, it is standard. The 5 speed auto is an option for $1300.

You are correct if you're talking about the sedan. The C230 Kompressor
comes with 5 speed automatic with no manual as an option. If you're
talking about the 2 door coupe the 5 speed automatic is an option
with 6 speed manual as standard.

c230 kompressor with amg package(wheels)and yes 6 speed is standard and for $1300 you get the auto 5 speed touch shift it was a nice car for 25,995 with leather, bose, panaramic sunroof and traction+ stability control. benz makes a great auto especially when the slk32 auto touch shift beats a manual m3
