2012 Puddle lights

Was playing around on nissan website and stumbled across external ground lighting http://www.nissanaccessories247.com/999F4-AX000M. I noticed on nissan website it says factory installed option. Is the dealer able to install them? Looking at the accessories i noticed some say factory and others say dealer. Tried doing a search did not come up with much info. thanks

yea i think its a different side skirt altogether. i agree i think $130 for 8 LED's is a bit wack, I'll just look at how they did it first time I can see one in person and mod my side skirts

My Ford Explorer had those (non LED), they were great. Wish my 09 had the puddle lights...

my only concern with modding this myself is getting the LED's to all point the exact same direction and angle. all you need is it to be a little off for one of those spotlights to be out of line and look stupid ...

Brabus makes those too for the Mercedes...as i recall its a small bracket that holds the individual light housing... you can do it with the stock skirst too

I sent an email to my service rep to see if this can be fitted to a 2010. Not sure if there is any extra harness wiring for it or they snake a wire to another location and tap in.. Foot wells maybe? Certainly close enough....

Talk about pricey but then again it's all for profit.

it'll all come down to how u get the wire inside. pretty sure it gets spliced with interior lighting so it dims if u dim all that. may even look at using a V-LEDs strip instead of 4 individual LEDs

Just use some sort of strip (non bendable of course) to mount the leds to so you can make sure they're uniform in direction.

for that price you could probably get some really bright aftermarket puddle lights, and make your own(like those posted by eesjunin).

I think the easiest is to connect to the lights on the door...

all you gotta do is measure and divide by how much led spot lights you putting to get the exact spot on both sides

nah wasnt worried about the spacing, but the actual angle each LED is pointed. they could each be like 8" apart from each other or whatever, but if they're not mounted at the same exact angles it wont make a straight line of spotlights on the ground.

i think Stillen has some instructions on their site for taking off our sideskirts so maybe theres an easy way to run a wire to splice into the interior lights so when you unlock the car they come on.

I would love to do this mod but I'm worried about the weather where I am.. Especially with winter coming I'm afraid of snow covering up the lights... Also do u have to remove the side skirts in order to install these?

That's a very good point about the snow blocking the lights, something to think about. I would like to see pics or video on how this is installed.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. Parts says the kit is orderable at $150. Site says $195. They are not sure about it being usable on the 2010 models. The system recommends 2 hours for install. My dealer apparently charges $100/hour.

So, still not totally sure about it but need to take the car in next week so I will get some face time and see if I can learn more. Until then I am anxious to see the pdf cacusto419 has available.
