Folks-

the rattles/squeaks from the center console of my 2k GLE (around the radio/hvac controls) are driving me crazy. My dealer tried last winter to remedy them, but to no avail. Anyone know of a thread or past post that would help me try a fix by myself? I guess once I figure out how to take off the face plates around the radio/hvac controls, I can try using foam/felt, etc to quiet down the rattles? Any help much appreciated in advance!

look in the TSB sticky, there is a 24 page PDF on rattles. If you a tired of messing with the dealer, you can order the foam tape from DaveB. Shipping will cost more than the foam there are plenty of local places to get it too.

So far I have knocked all of mine out in about 15 mins of work. Doing the tape around the bose will take alittle longer. I think all of my rattles were in the a-pillar areas. That took out 95% of all the rattles.

 

uuh no,, u dont have 2 do that. pull out the centre air blower, with both hands, put in that torque that the lord provided u. then u can get a closer look at whats going on
