Could any maxima get a sound like this?

Whats going on guys, I saw this video and was in shock with how awesome this crossfire sounds with no muffler. To my understand.....No Muffler, no back pressure- less power? I don't know too much about cars but I thought that was right. Either way is there any exhaust that could produce this godly of a sound?

Do we still do what? I'm new here so no need to get pissed. I was wondering if these is any exhaust system that could produce something close to this, or if its even possible.

Sure you can, just get a Crossfire...

Look-up the Maxima exhaust clips & see what you like.

"Long" tube headers/y-pipe, no cat, no resonator and a decent catback may sound like that but who knows.

It could sound better or worse in person but we'll never know.

Why would you want your car to sound like that man? That don't even sound good. Every car will vary depending on the size engine, exhaust and muffler you have. The only way you can accomplish a sound like that is to get the same car and exhaust system he has.

That thing probably wake the whole neighbourhood when he starts up in the morning. Get other members feedback on exhaust system man because it will annoy the hell outta you when you're listening to that drone

Asking us why isn't going to get you an answer, you should ask them.

I called those people for you. Their answer was "because we don't have it in stock and we don't want anyone to place an order". No kidding... I sure hope there is no one stupid enough to order one. I told them that was a very stupid marketing policy because people will see that price and never come back to their store.

If I wanted to order it, it would probably be drop shipped from the manufacturer and take around 3 weeks. The price would be 300 something.

I think you've got a lot of great feedback. Best being search for sound clips for the Maxima with various exhausts and find what you like. But, if you want that trashy (IMO) sound like the crossfire, then follow his example, just cut off your resonator and muffler and weld in straight pipe.

In my opinion, the exhaust allows the engine to vocalize it's power. The styling of the exhaust will determine the extent to which the engine is able to do that successfully. When done wrong, the worst thing happens, the engine vomits it's guts out the rear of the car.

That's just what we experienced with that Crossfire....NOT a pleasant experience!

Yeah I agree, the feedback I got in this thread was great. Thanks for all of the responses!

Now another question. So say you have a dual exhaust (A Y pipe is it?). Now, with that, wouldn't you also need 2 mufflers? Could you mix mufflers? Say, A Magna Flow + A greddy muffler as well. I've never really heard or seen anyone mention it so I figured I'd ask.

Why would you want to do that, one will probably sound Nice and the other like Rice...if I was in the market again for a exhaust it would be a Ebay one for piping and stock muffler...and call it a day .....

You haven't heard of it because people know not to do it. This would wreak havoc on exhaust flow and back pressure. You would probably end up losing power. Same reason why you don't put dual exhaust on a non-turbo 4 cyl. Besides it being pointless extra weight it causes turbulence in the exhaust flow and you will not make as much hp as you would with single exit exhaust. Yes, my mr2 in the sig has dual exhaust but it is also turbo which breaks up the exhaust note before the splitter, negating the issue.

I am being completely serious as I post this, but I am not getting an exhaust.

I'm getting sound racer. Not too good for performance but a hell of a lot better sound than some POS Max

Yeah man, tell me about it.

In all seriousness though, I just want a tasteful/open header type sound. I've decided I really don't care about speed at all, I just want a cool, deep tone. I'm assuming some type of catback could do this for me but hopefully I don't run into a raspy sound. Not that i think it sounds bad, Just not mah taste.

It's only 2.25, so I wouldn't even bother with it.

-Equal length primary exhaust piping, also the length of the primaries have to do with it too. Don't know what I'm saying keep researching the matter.
