wheel and tires for 1st gen

the factory wheels for the 1st gen were 14"x5.5 and 185 70 r14 tires, my question is will 14"x6 92 stanza wheels fit the tires and will i have to buy the lug nuts too?

thanks, will

the bolt pattern should be the same, so they should fit. but the 83 280ZX WHEELS LOOK better(the mag type).

do i need to adjust the offset also?
yeah i saw a lot of 280z wheels in the junkyard, but none of them are in good condition and most of them are 15", besides i was thinking of more modern looking wheels like the stanza se wheels. the 9 spoke design is nice.

I would say, te best way to make sure the wheels will fit your car is to: first make sure the lug pattern is the same which it should be. altima, stanza,1st & 2nd gen maxima, 240-280Z and 240SX ALL HAVE THE SAME 4 LUG PATTERN. then check to see if the wheel looks OK, that means make sure the tires won't rub on the fenders but if you use the 280Z rims make sure you got good ball joints.

Offset is not something you can adjust, so you can either eyeball it like Charles mentioned, or try measuring it with the tire dismounted, or see if any tire/wheel guides in a tireshop will tell.

Another thing to consider is if the center bore is the same. That's the size of the hub on the drum and rotor and the matching hole on the inside of the wheel. Don't know if these cars are hubcentric (rests on hub for support) or not, but at least check that the new rim's hub hole isn't too small, otherwise it won't fit anyway.
