GREAT idea for next upgrade

Ok check this out. I recently got my hands on a Chevy 350 engine out of an 87 Firebird, and I'm going to do an engine swap with my 96 GLE. I was wondering where I could get some information on where to get a conversion kit and everything else I would need. I did use search before posting this but I couldn't find anything. Thanks a lot.

take the money you would pay to do this or to have it done, put 1/2 in the bank and spend the other half on a supercharger for your max. simple yet effective.

If you *somehow* make it work you will be my hero but puting in a hick engine in the SEXima is evil

well maybe that wasn't the best idea

BUT,
what if I integrated parts from a Honda to make a Civaxima? Civic and Maxima, the possibilities are endless! I'll get an Si engine and put a Jackson supercharger on it, and have half Honda badges and half Nissan. I can make the ultimate hybrid, the Hondsan Civaxima! That way, I can save weight by using an engine with 3.6% the amount of torque a Maxima has. I can go to junkyards and buy 5 or 6 body pieces from Civics and redo my trunk, that way I can have several sets of altezzas on the back for a totally out of this world look. I'll take my leather seats out and put in ugly uncomfortable ones, replace the Bose with a 6W per channel tape deck, and slowly turn the Maxima into a Civic. Also, any parts that will not work with the Maxima will be obtained from my 1978 Dodge Aspen. I will probably use the 14" wheels with hubcaps and whitewalls, and then install a sunroof for the rear seats, just like in those Land Rovers. Well this is definitely a better idea than the last one I had, so let me know what you think.

ummm...why don't you just buy a Civic then? if you're planning on "converting" the body panels of the max to civic... Your ideas are getting kind of dumb...but hey, if you wanna do it...please keep us informed...

Or you could try putting the front of a 5th gen onto the back of a 3rd gen. Then you'd have all that power AND independent rear suspension.

Hmmmm.... Lurker with only five posts. Sounds like a lot of leg-pulling. And people are getting all outraged !

Park the Max on the street, leave keys in ignition. Go buy pogo stick. You'll be set, 0 wheel drive. Oh, yeah. Put your keyboard in the trunk first.

Sad day for me, happy one for you

Well I was joking about all that nonsense, but I have parted ways with my Maxima. That means I have things for sale. I have clear corners, HID xenon headlights (the cheap ones mind you), and altezzas to sell that were all on the car for a month or less. I also have a brand new front strut bar that has never been used. All this was for my '96 Maxima; I know the tails only work for 95-96, but the other stuff should apply to more years. Well get in touch with me; I know, I posted this in the for sale also. I just need to sell this stuff quickly. Thanks.

Thanks, I had a blast creating this thread, and I'm glad others could be amused by it. I don't own a Maxima anymore, but perhaps I will entertain y'all from time to time with ridiculous threads. Later.
