Phone calls with Voice Command

Hey guys, newbie here. Just bought an '09 Max and had a Q about Voice Command for outgoing calls. Is there a way to bypass the lengthy command chain (I.e. PHONE...PHONEBOOK...NAME...DIAL...). I just want to hit the voice icon button on the steering wheel, wait for the tone and say, "Call so and so". I can't seem to do that. Help please.

Should be able to say "call xxxx mobile/home" and it will pick it up. Granted it is a basic name that won't confuse it. Haha

If you have an iPhone 4s with Siri, and it is not connected to the car via USB, you can hold down the button on the iPhone and Siri will come over the car speakers/mic and work. Not aware of a way around it with Nissan voice commands. What kind of phone do you have?

ttt3, I've got the iPhone 4. Seems there would be a way to bypass all the "fluff" just to make a call. If not I can live with it but wanted to make sure I covered my bases. Thx for the input.

@Pearcejp Had the same problem when i got the car, press the call button, cut the voice off with another press of the button and say "Call ____" or " name "wait for the voice to start speaking, cut her off aginwith the button again and say "Dial" that is the fastest way to do it unfortunately. for some reason, you cant just say "Dial ____ " and have it start ringing, unless of course your using siri. Also, go in the manual and complete the voice command set up, it will pick up what you say way better after.

I could have sworn with the Tech Pack there is an option to use "shortened" voice commands. I have to double check but I'm sure I am able to just hit the voice command button and say "Dial Home" and then maybe a confirmation to make sure it recognized the correct name in your phonebook.

This is how I believed it was in all of the models. I know in my current one and the previous one I could just say "Dial/Call Home" and it would dial for me.
