Luxury mod ... seat memory in a base SE ... can it be done?

I have a base SE with cloth seats, but the 8-way power driver's seat.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to add the seat memory switches from the GLE to my car. It seems like the driver's seat is pretty much the same. Has anyone looked into whether this could be done? My wife is 5'2" and puts the seat so far up that I can't even get in the car without first moving it back a good 6 inches, not to mention lowering it about 2 inches and getting the right "bucket" position.

I believed I looked into this, but seems toooooo complicated with the computer and the switch and what not to try to jam memory seating from a 2k2 into a 2k1.

The seat memory buttons are on the driver's upper door panel towards the front of the door. There is also a switch on the instrument panel down by the mirror adjuster that enables/disables the entry/exit feature on automatics (where when you turn the car off, the seat moves back to make it easier to get out, and when you get back in it moves the seat back to the last memory position).

I don't think it would be a big deal to add the switches. What I'm not sure about is whether the seat controller is different between the SE and GLE, or if the controller is the same but they just don't provide the feature (i.e. switches) on the SE, as an incentive to get the GLE. I would guess that the previous years ('00-'01) don't have seat controllers that support this or else the GLE would have had the feature too, and I'm pretty sure they didn't.

If I find out it's just the switches/wiring, I'll definitely do it.

I haven't used the memory seats yet. I don't let anyone else drive. Probably not worth $$$ it will cost you vs. the number of times you will use it..but to each his own!

I have a 2002 six speed with an auto seat. Because it is a manual I have to sit in the cramped seat and push on the brake before the seat will move back to the my setting. It ****es me off because I have to squeaze into the position my girlfriend was in.
