SES blinks then goes away

In the last week or so, my SES light has started blinking twice while driving and then gone away. The first time it blinked for about 15 seconds and went away. The second time it blinked for about a minute before going away. I don't feel any issues with the car as it still drives smooth. So my questions are:

1. Do I need to have it looked at? I'm not sure since the light goes away after a while.

2. Will a code reader pickup any codes when the SES light is not on/blinking?

3. I remember seeing a thread a while ago about how to extract the engine codes, what the codes meat, etc. I cannot find it anymore. If someone could point me to info/threads on SES lights, that would be great.

Thanks!

Probably a random misfire. Get it checked and post back.

definitely sounds like a random misfire the code would be P0300, but get the car scanned to see if it is holding a code. The 300 code is for random however you may find you are throwing a code for a specific plug P0301 is for plug/coil 1 P0302 is for number 2 plug/coil and so on to P0306
