Bose Sub Woofer Not Working

Just bought a 02 gle with 73k on it and just realized that the bose subwoofer doesn't work at all. I checked in the trunk and it's all plugged in. I seen the little amp next to it but didn't see a fuse. Do I have to take it out to change the fuse? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Try tapping on the subwoofer or subwoofer amp and see if it kicks on for a little bit. The majority of people's cars have subwoofer issues and it can attributed to a faulty relay located in the sub amp for the 5.5 gens. On the 2000 there is a separate board that you can simply unplug and bypass.

I recommend buying a new relay and getting it soldered in place of the old one in the subwoofer amp. Someone here sells the replacement relay for $15 but i cant remember his username.

here is the thread about fixing the issue

There is also a little more ghetto fix that I did myself after doing some research here that works very well. It involves building basically a paper washer and using the frame of the amp to push on said relay holding it on the board better. It's worked perfect so far and doesn't take much time.

of course getting the new relay is prob your best choice, but this worked perfect for me.
