Possible suspension problem?

Recently (I don't know how long it has been since it just became warm enough to drive with my windows down) I have been hearing this noise when I drive past a wall or some other object that will send the sound waves back inside my car. I thought almost all day how to describe the sound, and the best I could come up with is "hissing and thin metal rubbing on metal" lol. It sounds like its my suspension because it is really noticeable (quiet sound, I can only hear it when I dont have music on) when I go over bumps.

I havn't done any mods to my car besides changing out my stereo. When I bought the car (2002 maxima SE AT with 133,000 miles) the transmission was broken, tons of sensors went, and other stuff, but it is not sending any codes and isn't driving weird besides the noise.

Any idea what this noise is? I feel like I have one of those cars that makes people turn their heads and say "wow what a **** box" haha.

Thanks in advance!

Check if one of your dust shields is rubbing against a rotor

No problem. Basically you're going to have to underneath the car, behind the wheels and behind the rotors to see if the metal dust shield is making contact with the back side of the rotor.

Sometimes, a quick an easy start is to stand outside the car and have someone drive it slowly back & forth as you listen by each wheel to see if the noise is coming from there. It doesn't always work though because sometimes it won't start to rub until you pick up a little speed.

If you can't seem to tell, you might have to pull off each wheel so you can take a close look at each one. That' the sure-fire way of telling.
