when i threw my screen in, all i had was the GXE dash kit... you can go through many suppliers that make a aftermarket dash kit but to me, doesnt flow well as the gxe kit does...

wiring harness to radio or tap into the factory harness.... << not the best way but it works...

antenna adapter

basics of installing a aftermarket radio...

make sure to search on the org to find the wire to ground out when installing a aftermarket radio tho.. the wire is to your trip, mpg, dte, so on and so forth.. button on the steering wheel wont work unless wire is grounded out..

^^ assuming you have a 02-03 that is...

the big items are the ones you listed. Head unit, amp(s), speakers. You need an enclosure for the sub. You can have one custom made at a shop or you can buy a premade one off the shelf at your local electronics place. If you get one off a shelf, try to get one that is close to the size that the sub specs ask for. To install the head unit you need a dash kit, wire harness, antenna adapter. To install the amp you need primary power cable, primary ground, secondary power, secondary ground, RCA cables, speaker wire, remote turn on cable, main battery fuse holder and fuse, ground distribution block, fused power distribution block and fuses, and at least 2 ring terminals. The gauge (size) of the cables depends on the power of your amps but most setups are OK with 4wg as primary and 8 awg as the secondary power and ground. The size of your fuses will be listed int he amps owners manuals but can be manually calculated too. An amp install kit has all that and is the easier way to go for a newb. Be sure you get one designated for multiple amps. I havent done an install in the maxima yet but my my estimations 20 foot of primary power should be fine. 17-20 foot RCA will be enough too. For speaker cable, if you are wiring all 4, buy plenty. You always need more than you thought because of all the turns you have to do in the cable run.

I think thats everything. If you want help calculating the cable, fuse or box sizes, list up what you have and I will take a look for you. If you want to buy an amp install kit check out woofersetc.com and sonicelectronix.com for some good prices.

Do you have the BOSE system? It becomes even more tricky if you do. That system has it's own amp that is triggered by the stock headunit. Out from the amp is the speaker runs and the stock speakers are a weird 1-2 ohms.

What this means is that replacing those speakers requires you to run new cable to each speaker or tap into the stock amp harness in the trunk that runs to each speaker.

For fronts you want to probably put in components with the mid in the door and tweet in the pillar. You'll want to run a new wire from door to pillar for this and hide the crossover in the door.

Not complicated work - just takes time.
