TURN SIGNAL SWITCH PROBLEM!!

Okay, push the hazard button signal lights flash outside and on dash. same thing when using the the key fob lights flash. using the turn signal switch hear no clicking no lights flash on dash or outside. no fuses blown. everything else on the switch works as far as controlling headlights, fogs, etc... any inputs would help. don't wanna go to dealer just yet for help. put a new turn signal switch on order through dealer just in-case that's it. Thanks in advance.

Check the actual flasher itself

If the flasher is not connected you will get the exact symptoms your having. Did you install a stereo or have the dash apart recently?

No, he said the Hazard switch works, which means it cant be unplugged.

OP, it sounds like you've got a bad Flasher Relay, it's under the steering column area, by your feet, where the fuse panel is. It'll be hard to find because it's not clicking (easiest way to track it down, normally).

In the picture below, I'm pretty sure the Relay is the one in the center between the Fuse panel and the SECU, with nothing directly around it.

P.S. This is a generic type 3 post flasher relay, you DO NOT need to pay a huge buck at the dealer for this, any parts store will carry them. However, be warned, aftermarket ones are louder (clicking noise) than stock.

Great example of why not to just throw parts at a problem.

Time to get a volt meter.

^ I concur with the above statement. But just as a last quip does you sidemarkers and taillights turn on when you turn on the headlights? You might just want to cheack all of your fuses both in the car and in the engine bay.

Just curious, are you using OEM style bulbs or LEDs?

Agreed, but in this case, the likely cause from his OP was the Flasher relay. And they're about $6, and super simple to change.

Well worth the attempt in that particular case.

Either way OP, the 1999 and 2001 Maxima's are different, obviously, and the wiring is NOT the same.

How long ago? If you still have your OEMs, put them back in to see if it makes a difference.

wait you have LED gauge indicators, or you have EXTERIOR LED's, or both?
