i have an 03 i35 and i have been getting a loud noise from the engine dept. The loud noise stops as you decrease the car and cant be heard during idle. I know most of you will say its the engine noise but the noise is constant when
cruising. i do have an aftermarket exhaust but its coming from front of the car. thanks

 

No grinding noise coming from the transmission. Maybe timing belt but who knows.

 

Does the noise come from the passenger side (front) of the engine? Most of the timing chain issues out there are noticable even at idle speeds.

 

After driving the car some more i get a constant grind (engine dept) and the noise stops once my car is at a full stop. It could be two things maybe transmission or power steering pump. My car also grinds when i turn the car left or right and when i reverse. Can someone help me. thanks

 

Sounds like a wheel bearing is toast, and in need of replacement ... seeing as you said the noise stops when the car is not in motion.
