Leaking Trunk Resulted in Bath Tub-effect in Spare Tire Well [Pic]

One of my tail lamps is cracked and rain water has been collecting in the trunk's spare tire well for a few months now. Now there's this mess...

I've been bucketing water out of it, but there's still some and is inaccessable. Also, I cannot get the spare tire out. Any advice?

If you crawl under the rear of the car (use ramps or a jack for easier access) you'll see a black rubber grommet on the underside of the spare tire well. Remove that and the water will drain out.

you get that much water in the trunk from a cracked tail light????? I think you need to check some other things here. I may be wrong but this just doesn't sound right. Are any of the trunk liners wet? How does the trunk weather seal look? any holes in the trunk floor? Im just throwing some things out there cause i really doubt its the crack.

It was actually a defective Driver-side tail lamp. Apparently that had been building up for years. Both lamps are replaced now.

and LOL at the goldfish suggestion. Honestly if an autobody shop charges too much to repair this, I'm just going to embrace this whole thing, install a water heater and a few jets, and call it a jacuzzi.

I'm not sure. Should I be trying to move the bolt or the plastic white thing?

Make sure you put a lot of sealant on the lamps, that causes a lot of leaks as well
