2003 Maxima GE stereo speakers cut out

Hello board.
I just recently purchased a garaged mint 2003 Maxima Ge. The passanger side (NON BOSE) speakers cut out on occasion or most of the time and when balanced to the pass side it sounds like blown speakers but will out of nowhere come back to full sound. Is this a common head unit problem? Should I pull the door or radio and check for loose wires? I plan on getting an aftermarket deck. Will that resolve the issue?

The second issue are the lights on the temoerature control. A few seem to be out. Worth fixing or buying a used unit with warranty from ebay/online.

I aporeciate any feedback. I have noticed some post referencing the Bose system this is the standard system.

Thanks
Matt

It's your head unit - replace and you'll be fine.

The temperature control bulbs can be replaced - dealer part, a couple dollars each.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm going to drop in my Pioneer deck and take it from there. I wanted to do everything at once since both climate control and radio will have to come out.
