question about Pre-mature tire wear and how to prevent it?

Just a year and 4 months ago I bought like new Michelin Pilots( a $160 each tire) all seasons for the car. Granted I bought them used with only 500miles on them. They were a good I'd say 99% thread on them, they looked gorgeous and I got them for a steal. They didn't fit the guys car so he got rid of them, they were still sticky.

Anyway, I have rotated them twice every 8k, kept up with balance and air pressure and my front tires are at like 10% give or take away from the wear bars. So they are probably like 55% -60% This totally shocked the hell out of me. I always kept the pressure well, and I don't do burnouts ever and my alignment is good, however my balljoints are going again(3rd time) and I live in the city.

Would ball joints have an issue with pre-mature tire wear? My rears are at lest 85% 90% I am kinda bumming out because I wanted these to be the last set of tires for this car.

What could cause pre mature wear? Or is this a Michelin thing? I had brand new yokohama HZs on them for almost 3 years and they wore out all even. I am not even sure if these fronts will last until next winter so I wanna save my rears for the winter as they are very high in thread.

What kind of wear? Shoulder, middle, feathering, or even wear? What is the mileage rating? How fast do you drive, and how hard do you corner?

all even wear. I sometimes acel quick, but mostly speed limit. I did think it could be cause of my cornering, I do corner somewhat fast. It is just my style. lol AWD is like my type of car probably. lol

Honestly. lol, I feel like when I took it to get rotated they did just the fronts and swapped them from pass to driver . I have a feeling when I told them to do X type swap.

Your driving style and a worn out front end is what caused the premature wear.

I would lean towards bad alignment on the vehicle. I went through a set of Hankook Ventus tires in less than 10K total due to bad alignment on my car.

S1cTech, are you saying that the front tires are about half worn at nearly 20,000 miles? If so, that sounds quite reasonable for performance tires.

I have no doubts about this because I went back to Townfair tire cause my car was still kinda leaning towards the left on the highway they told me because my car and rack was old and lose or ****ty, then told me to bug off, well one guy did. He sucked. HE said that it was all in the green and zeroed out and there is nothing else they could of done with the money I spent. :\

I have a set of Nexen tires and for some reason, everything on the car is set and aligned, the middles have started wearing out before everything else and the tire pressure has never been over inflated.

Could be just a bad tire or a tire not rated for the car I'd think. I've seen some tires with wacky *** thread types that premature wear in weird spots. I've never had premature wear in odd or weird spots unless I didn't keep up with the tire pressure and or alignments.
