fixed a couple of things on my 97 maxima

I tried to fix some things on my car today. I guess 2 out of 4 is not two bad.

The overdrive on/off switch was broken when I got the car. I replaced the gear shifter and it works now.

I had a report on my car form the previous owner that the the BCM (Body Control Module) was bad and could have been causing the security system to be off or disabled. I replaced it. I haven't noticed any difference yet. I still cannot read the check engine codes.

My odometer was not working when I got the car. The miles are unknown on the car. I got a replacement odometer with 196K and now I will be able to figure out how bad my mpg is . As a side effect, my check engine light went out.

I replaced the digital clock with what I thought was a good one. It didn't work.

When I get more time, I still need to replace a front headlight and fix the passenger door handle.

Quick update. I did the obvious. I replaced the 7.5 amp fuse that controls the clock and the security system.

Now my clock works and the car beeps at me when I don't have my seat belt on. It won't let me lock the doors with the door open. Additionally, when I lock the door from the outside the security light comes on.

I guess I fixed 4 out of 5 if you count the fact that I cannot program the keyfob.
