Maxima Traded in sure going to miss it

Well the day has come to get a larger vehicle to replace the max. Family is growing and we need the room. Here are a few pics of our car right before we traded it in. We just loved the car. It has been trouble free, and a joy to drive.

We miss the car a lot, but every time we get in a drive the new one, we for sure made the right decision.

38,000 Miles, Details in the Signature. Got $25,000 trade in for it.

Can you guess what vehicle we replaced it with Hint, it is sitting right behind the maxima in the photos!

I will get some pics of the new ride up shortly!

Wow. I can't believe you got that much for it. I just bought a 2009 SV Sport with fewer miles for $21500 last month. I wonder if they showed you more on your trade by taking it out of their markup on the new one. That's an old trick. Instead of knocking a couple thousand off the price of the new car, you blow the customer away with a high trade-in offer to build good faith and still make your money. Anyway, good luck. I'll miss your detailing tips.

Not a Honda...
It is the 2012 Nissan Quest, LE Fully loaded!!! Dual moon roofs, dvd navi, blind spot warning... and on and on...

Buckeye, thanks for the kind words. This van will get the full details as well. I will get some pics up of it soon, when I get some time to work on it.
We got a great deal for it. Sticker was 44,XXX. We paid 33,XXX something for it. I get the VPP pricing, we have a family member that works for nissan! So the difference was around 10K with taxes and fees. That included the 2750 cash back rebate.

That VPP pricing is the way to go. I don't have to negotiate the price of the vehicle. I just have to negotiate my trade. That is where several dealers come into play. The winning dealer was 3 hours away. There were 3 or 4 dealers 30 min from me, but they were easier to work with and more honest.

They drove the van to my house, did the paper work and drove the car back. So nice because we had family in town and a 1 year old that hates to travel. This was Saturday by the way.

Anyway our car will be missed, such a nice car, but my priorities are my family. I turn 30 this year, so part of growing up i suppose. We just love it everytime we get in and drive it. So much room.

It actually handles surprisingly well. Interior is leaps and bounds above any of the competition.

You'll come back around. I'm 34 with two kids. We bought a Chrysler Town & Country in 2009. My wife loves it, but when it was time to replace my "work car" a 2002 Ford Focus, I knew exactly what I wanted. Once you get that van paid off, you'll be back.

Funnymann you were right on! Very keen eye! When looking at the Toyota and Honda the Nissan's interior is in a complete class of its own. The toyota interior was very cheep looking, hard plastics and just not nice. That was in the top of the line as well. Honda was better, but not by much. The town and country was great as well, just not as good as the quest.

I would rank them:
1 Quest
2 Chrysler
3 Honda
4 Toyota

buckeye i hope to be back sometime. Not sure when, but I hope someday to get back in the max. Right now my daily driver is a 96 Toyota T-100. Its great, I need a truck as well. So both of our cars are 100% made in Japan. Then I have my 52 gmc truck. So a little difference there

The Max and the quest are very similar and very different. It actually handles similar to the Max, its not a stiff, but the driving dynamics are similar. The VQ in this application makes 260 or 270 HP, can't remember off the top of my head, but it still has the VQ sound to it. sounds great!, just a bit quieter then the max.

It is a bit quieter driving, especially on the highway. But that is a good thing. The seats are huge very supportive, firm, yet very very comfortable. The seats just are perfect. They are still somewhat sporty as well. They sure don't hug you like the max's did, but they do hug you.

The interior quality is just straight out of the infinity. The navi screen is 8" I believe, it is huge!!! Bose system is great. The rear dvd is wonderful, it has the dual wireless headsets as well.
Outside is great looking, its no maxima, but it is the best looking mini van out there, my opinion of course. You just don't buy the mini van for the looks, like we did with the maxima. But it is a nice looking car! The back looks just like the new QX56, check them out if you have time.

But so far its been just so nice to have with the little one.
All weather matts bought from nissan, they are grey now to match the interior color, so that is a nice touch. Front windows are tinted now as well. It will get the Zaino treatment tomorrow, hopefully.

A mini van (or not so mini in this case) is a decision in life I will NEVER make.

I own a max and a minivan ('07 odyssey). Max is nice and all for most driving but the van is a great vehicle to have around, whether it's for hauling stuff (rear buckets and back bench seats taken out = massive cargo room)or hauling people in comfort (road trip).

Congrats on the quest!

It is the most practical vehicle we have ever owned that and my pickup. You can do just about anything.

I have no desire to be 'cool' or care one bit about what people think of minivans. This one is just perfect for us. Like I said above, we are sad to not see the max in the garage, just because it was a great car! But once we get into the quest it is like why didn't we do this sooner!!!

If anybody is in the market for an SUV or CUV or whatever they are called now, I would seriously look at a minivan. The interior is laid out so easy, the sliding doors are so nice, you just have to touch them to get in with the key fob still in your pocket. So nice when carrying our soon and stuff.

The layout has so much more room, in the 2nd and 3rd row seats then anything out there. They get better gas milage then most SUV's. They handle better, and they are cheaper!

anyway just my thoughts, but some like the SUV's more power to them! I know we are so happy with it. We just miss the max for sure. It is an awesome car. I wish I could afford/ justify needing it

Not that anyone is tracking this thread as a "which minivan should I buy" thread, but we own a 05 Chrysler T&C and owned a 02 before that, and will never buy another one. Way too much maintenance expense. Stuff just keeps breaking (headlight control, auto doors, alternator) and it is already rusting out (so is one of my buddies) and we only have about 75k miles on it. Tires need replacing every 30k at best and brakes aren't much better. IMHO not a good choice at all.

Yeah I was still a bit concerned with that. My parents had a 99 T&C for 5 years and put 140K miles on it. They never had an ounce of trouble with it. But I think they were more of the exception then the rule with them. I will tell you what though, their interiors are top notch, they still have some hints of cheapness. The 2nd row chairs for example, they are great, but their arm rests are plastic and junk.

Here is the new ride! Just cleaned up with 1 coat of Zaino. It really gets crazy shinny when you get the 2nd coat on. Enjoy! Only thing done is 35% tint on the front windows.

Here are some for now. It's just nissans site, but I don't have time to take any pics. Ours is the LE with the dual moon roofs, and everything. It has the grey leather.
