Factory Bose VS. Aftermarket

My factory bose head unit recently broke (long story) and I am debating on whether or not to replace it with an aftermarket or a factory head. How does the bose system work with a aftermarket head, pretty good? Also if anyone has some recommedations of good double din (preferably mp3 compatable) I would sure appreciate it. Thanks,

Sam

hey buddy

I got rid of my head unit, and got a Pioneer Premier DEH-P730 headunit. Has the movie screensavers on it and what-not. Comes with a cool little black remote too. It's really cool. And it retails at $430, but you can get it on ebay for $230 now. You can filter out bass, and treble, mid, ect. I seem to get more outta the speakers now.

I used to have a huge Infinty Perfect system, but got rid of it, kept the headunit. I also got that headunit becuase it has 3 sets of 4V (high voltage) outputs that I needed for my system. It's not a double din but the space under will be a little storage compartment and looks good. My friends thought it was bad@ss at first, and still ask me to this day if I have aftermarket speakers.

Good luck

Bose Speakers have amplifiers on the back of them.. if you wish to use it with an aftermarket radio.. you will have to bypass the amps on the back of the speaker..

Oh yea I forgot to add that. Thank you Darren

Yes if/when you get your aftermarket system installed they will have to re-wire the bose's. Doesn't cost that much extra though.

I recommend ditching the whole crappy Bose system. But if you want to keep the amps and speakers until they break, you can use an aftermarket HU with an adaptor that will allow it to work with the Bose speakers, no problem.

I don't know the part numbers, but any car audio shop around you should have the correct adaptor. Lots of people have used them. It's a common part. Just ask them what you need.
