I just replaced the rear struts not long ago on my 4th gen Maxima and now I'm getting this rattling noise from passenger rear. The rattling noise sounded like machine gun, very subtle on smooth road, gets louder on bumpy road and on high speed turn (entering/exiting on highway). What can be the caused of this?

 

I'm guessing you didn't replace the strut mount?

 

Yes I did.

 

Was it torqued to spec? What brand?

 

I vote for the muffler rattling because my car had this issue the muffler would hit the body on bumpy roads and sounds like its coming from the suspension but i took it to the muffler shop and got it fixed now i have no noise at all.

 

Hmm I have this issue as well coming from the same area soon after I changed my shocks. I read the rear strut mounts don't need to ever be changed, only the fronts?
