I had a set of Falken Ziex tires and I liked them. Only problem was that they wear down pretty quick. I recommend them over my set of Toyo Proxes FZ4 tires.

What didn't you like about them? Handling? Noise? Wet performance? (etc, etc.) Just wondering because I'm always reading up on stuff like this. Especially for small brands like Falken, Toyo, Nitto, etc.

They're probably a lot better than Yokohama's (which I wouldn't recommend to my WORSE enemy).

What I don't like about my FZ4's is that when your tire is low with air, then there is a crease that is created in the sidewall therefore your tire is ruined and must be replaced. I never had that problem with my Falkens. When air is low, I just put some more in and it's fine. There's no crease in the sidewall. Also, I think my Falkens handle better in twisty roads compared to my FZ4's when they were both new.

funny you should mentiin that. when i first had mine installed they were inflated to a mere 32 psi. the problem is that the max psi is 50psi, in my opinion 32psi was too low for this application. i figured that it probably is effecting the performance of my car/tires. so now i run them at 40-45psi depending on conditions. big improvement. as far as ride comfort is conearned i hav had no problems at all most people dont notice that i have 235/45zr17 unless i tell them. i drove the car from hartford ct to ft lauderdale fl: 22 hours striaght the ride was not harsh. (considering 40 psi/3 pass and luggage)

if you havent already try 40-42psi and see how you like them
hope his helps.

NOISE, passengers have thought I had a flat. Traction is good in the corners but they spin just as easy as the Mastercrafts that came with the car. On the bright side they have a kick *** tread pattern. I have ABS so I cant give any input as far as braking goes

Noise that sounds like a flat tire?? That's not right. Something is wrong there because performance tires have some road noise.. but not THAT much road noise like a flat tire sound. What do you mean Mastercrafts that came with the car? Sounds like some cheap name brand.. I've never heard of it. I believe the stock 3rd gens came with Yokohama tires? I'm not 100% sure on that.

If they've got noise like a bad tire or anything like that, then you've either got a bad suspension component, a bad belt in the tire, bad balance, something that's causing a vibration of some sort.

FYI. Mastercraft tires are a "cheapie" generic brand tire. there's a few places around here that sell them, and they usually only sell other cheap brands like cooper or Dayton.
