Maxima Wont rev past 2500

Driving down the freeway normally, then suddenly the car bogs, and wont rev past 2500... Pull over to the side, shut the car off and now it is running like crap.... i rev and it rev rough then goes past 4k and then the idle is smooth after letting off the gas.... after that it does not rev past 2500

I have a scanner and it shows no code... it runs smooth.. so I suspect its in limp mode for some reason..

How can I fix it?

MAF sensor seems clean...

I had the same symptoms on my car. It was the MAF.

I seen so many of this specific thread before. Most of the time it's the MAF sensor. The car is in a safe mode right now preventing you from causing more damage to your engine. Get a code read out so that you can determine exactly what the problem is but 9/10 it's the MAF sensor

if after 4K the car drives smoothly its not only just the MAF... can strangely be o2 sensors... ive had this exact issue in my 5.5... (however this was covered before also)... if the MAF is fine check your o2 sensor wires... sounds strange but im also telling you to check this because something similar to this happened to me also but check the MAF 1st

No pending codes? No misfires? There is a very long electrical list and this is only partial--> MAF and connections; O2's and connections; IACV and connections; and the TSP and connections; and even a faulty alternator. Make friends with a multimeter and the FSM and start checking ohms and continuity. Good Luck

MAF. Unplug it and see if it makes difference

MAF sensor seems clean? it might be clean. Doesn't mean it's working.
