where can you get your car on cd-rom

I have heard that you can buy a cd that will break
your car down with pics. Just thought it would be nice
to have with a problem came up.
Has anyone heard of this and if so where can you buy
one

Motor Trend sells a cheap version...like $25 a car...then you have the one's mechanics use that cost $1500-$2000 a year...

Haynes Manual

I was thinking about scanning my Haynes manual and making an Adobe Acrobat file. Is this legal? And, maybe even my 99' Nissan service manual. I also got all the TSB too. Less wear and tear on the book and you can print what you need without having to flip through pages.

if you don't have a 5th gen, don't buy the cdroms from ebay!!! I bought a 93 and 97 maxima and 95 altima "factory service manual" from ebay and it was crappy. It's a watered down ver of the real printed fsm. If anybody's interested, I can "let you look at it".
I alos have the real fsm for 2k-2k1 maximas. that's the real thing and very handy.

I checked out alldata. For $15/year, I didn't feel it's worth it. Alldata didn't seem any better than chiltons or haynes. I much prefer a printed fsm. The FSM is more comprehensive...includes how-to for everything and all the lil details.
The only reason I got the alldata.com was that my chilton's and the local garage couldn't figure out why my volvo engine wouldn't catch (it cranked, but no catch). The garage didn't know and they were gonna charge me to try several things...I checked out Alldata and their trouble shooting stuff is very cool, but still couldn't verify the cause of my problem. So I looked back in chilton and alldata's basically an online ver of chilton.

yeah, that's what you get if you buy any 4th gen maxima fsm on CD. My local dealership said there's no such thing as 1999 nissan FSM for any nissans. It started in 2000.

Sorry, I have 1993, 1997, and 2k-2k1.

1999's are a 4.5gen and 5.0gen hybrids... i think the emissions control junk is diff, which might throw off diff wires/harness/ecu codes and junk. But mechanically, they should be similar.
