1st annual Nissan/Infiniti Shootout @ Atco Raceway, NJ. 9/23/2012

To all Nissan and Infiniti lovers, racers and car show enthusiasts, this is your main event! This is the war to settle the score. This is not just a car show or swap meet… this is where the fastest and quickest Nissans and Infinitis will meet to determine who takes home the trophy and more importantly the bragging rights in their respective class! You will have your chance to prove who is the baddest on the planet! This is where all the smack talkers on the internet, facebook and twitter meet to dual it out like in the wild wild west. You guys have talk the talk now run the run. This is a no holds bar, no rules, “run what you brung and hope you brung enough” heads up race to the finish with the glory going to the last man standing event in each class! The track will be prepped, the air will be cool and the racing will be heated as some of the biggest names will be here to throw down the 1/4 mile! You will see all the notable shops from around the country at one track, at one event. This is the 1st Annual Nissan/Infiniti Shooutout!

This event is being held at the world famous, world-class track… the birthplace of import drag racing, Atco Raceway. This event is being held on September 23, 2012 when the good air comes to the east coast to make sure we have the best conditions possible for going as fast and as quick as you can. THIS IS WHERE RECORDS WILL BE SET AND RESPECTED! This will be the place to determine who is the baddest motherwatchyourmouth… in the world!

We will have both turbo and non-turbo in all our classes so everyone will get a chance to race.

This is the first event of its kind and we as the Nissan and Infiniti community want to do things BIG! So lets all get together on September 23rd to have best heads up Nissan/Infiniti race in the world.

What are the race classes "edit just looked at the site"

I noticed only the outlaw class said nhra rules apply and only the gtr/skyline class required at cage. So my question is if I bring a maxima that runs sub 11.50 without a cage will I be allowed to run

Good question. I'd like to know this before I tow my car 7+ hours to be there.

There is a chance I can crack an 11.99 and I don't have a rollbar yet.

We checked out Honda day last week and it was a blast! They do a fantastic job with that event which they have built up over the past 10+ years. Racers, car show guys, venders and shops, all working together for a common good! HOWEVER WE’RE NOT HONDA’S. WE’RE NISSAN’s AND INFINITI’s! THE MOST DIVERSE VEHICLE MANUFACTURE OUT THERE! Let’s show what we can do in our first year out! Lets rally the troops and make this event as big as we can by coming together! All the shops, vendors, car show guys and racers, rally your base! This will be the start of something HUGE that will take place year after year! It’s TIME to have our day! Let’s show this industry and event which embraces FWD cars, RWD cars, AWD cars, turbo cars, non-turbo cars, GTR, 4 CYL., 6 CYL., and lets not forget all of the swap cars. All which are competing in both racing and show! Let’s also not forget the joy of just hanging out with so many others who are share in the same love of the Nissan / Infiniti community. We’re excited and sure there will be so many cool cars to check out and race down the 1320! All of your favorite local shops and vendors will be there so you can put faces to names. Let’s see if we can create history together and have as big of an impact from our event as Honda day has had for the Honda community!

See you September 23rd!

Can you look into the rollbar thing for us? If I crack 11.99, will Atco still allow me to run without a rollbar and finish the race?

Anything under 11.5 at Atco, Englishtown, or even Island will require a cage. They will give you a warning first, next they will not allow you to run anymore.

Helmets are a must regardless of times.

i doubt they would enforce their cage/parachute rules.

my friends mustang ran a 11.0 @129 with no cage, roll bar, chute......nothing. i also know of some cars in the 10's that are completely stock chassis...atco never sat them down or kicked them out

i think youll all be fine esp if you "only" plan on going mid-high 11's.

my friends bolt on gto went 11.8...also completely stock chassis and atco never said anything. my other friends dsm went 11.6...also no problems.

atco seems to look the other way if the speed isnt outrageous.

one thing they do care about is nitrous though. if you plan on spraying, either hide the bottle until after tech or make sure its legit

i can almost guarantee that atco wont care if you run 11.8 or slower. idk if the NIS rules require a rollbar, but atco wont lol

Yeah, I am hearing about a lot of fast cars planning to be there! Most people have no idea how many truly fast Maximas, Altimas, and Sentras exist simply because they don't post often on the forums.
