Vanity mirror LEDs

I've read maybe half the threads on LED lamps (they get long and boring) but I can't recall reading anything about the vanity mirror lamps. I never even thought about these lamps because I'd almost forgotten the car had them.

Maybe a week ago I was riding in the car (the wife was driving) and I pulled the visor down because we were driving into the sun. For some reason I flipped open the mirror and the lights didn't come on. Thinking I needed new bulbs, I immediately thought LEDs.

When I got home and popped out the lens, I was surprised at what I saw. The lamps looked like fuses. I can't recall ever seeing a lamp like that. Now I was interested, especially to see if there was a LED replacement. I knew my no lights problem was not burned out bulbs, I'd figured that out while we were still driving, but I was hooked on the LED search.

Well, it wasn't much of a search. VLED was out of stock, no due date. But SuperBrightLed had plenty, so I ordered 8 from them. Got them today and installed them.

Here is a photo with one LED lamp and one incandescent bulb. I hope I don't have to tell you which one is which.

Here is a photo of the lamps. The SuperBrightLed number is F30-WHP 12 volt.

There is truth in this. But it is more of a "consistency" thing. I have LEDs in the dome, the doors, the trunk, so I figure why not. When you're out at the lake at night watching the submarine races with your girl, you can use them for ambience lighting.

LED is bright but cast cold tone on human. Vanity, only b..ches use them. They may request you to switch back.

After I put mine in, I did go back and turn them on an angle. But I turned mine to the outside to reduce the glare in the eyes. I can't imagine how bright yours must be with the 3 cells.
