Which Brake Pads for our 3rd gen?

Hi all, my front brake pads are due pretty soon and before to go and buy some junky pads, I would like to ask you guys, which are the good, better and best brake pads to use on the Maxima SE, I'm not upgrading at the moment, I just need to replace the pads and later I would like to upgrade rotors and calipers. But that will be later.

Thanks all for your input.

But I see many varieties I don't know what to buy: Ceramic, metallic, organic, semi metallic
I remember I was told ceramic are the best ones, is this accurate? I know everyone have a different preference but I want to know what you guys use and according to your experience what would you recommend, Thanks!

I've been a fan of Hawk HPS for a long time. stout enough for a good hard run on the street or a 100+ stop, but easy enough on rotors for daily driver use.

For a regular street car, also the "deluxe brands" from the parts store have been fine for everyone I've sent them to. Wagner, Raybestos, Bendix, etc. Expect to pay about $50-60 a set of any of the above pads.

I have been a fan of Hawk brake pads myself. I currently have the Ceramics right now. They do produce some dust though. It comes back a week after I clean my rims.

LOL! Good thing I asked, I was gonna buy those AZ Cmax, since they have lifetime wty (but that is if you and your car are still alive when they fail :P) but considering they are $50 a set, I guess I rather try the HAWK you are recommending if the price is about the same, where do you guys buy the HAWKs?

There called C-Max gold i believe(ceramics), there cheap enough for decent pads. Of course you can get better ceramics online but I got them cause I needed them asap and I'm not racing my old Max.

Mind f*ck seems like a lack of a worse term. Man you seem to have taken it better than I ever could.

Online....try NAPA and get those Aussie made PBR brakes the Aussies have been making the best brake pads for nearly 30-40 yrs...low dust, max grip, low noise they know something the Japanese and Germans don't!

FWIW, I buy Hawk pads from Summit racing. I go through a ton of pads on my race car, so I've shopped around with SCCA member discounts and everything.. Even with 25% discounts from many places, Summit still comes out cheaper with no discount.

I called Hawk the other day to order some pads direct (I get contingency money- gift certs for parts for good finishes- but I have to buy direct from Hawk.) blah blah blah. The list price on some racing pads for my car was like $205, summit sold them for $179/set. even with my contingency money, it was still more to buy from Hawk than it was to buy from Summit with no discount. DOH!

Anyway, the Axxis/PBR pads are good stuff as well. Just don't get the "Deluxe" pad. I'd go for MetalMaster. they're a bit weak on the first couple cold stops in the morning in cool weather, but after that they're fine. I like the Hawk HPs because they don't do that. first stop is good, even when cold.

scroll about halfway down and you'll see Maxima, they have them listed for '88-08 still. '88 is probably because Japan had 3rd gens a year before North America in 1988

And this is why I rather go with them.

OK Thank you all for the suggestions, for the HAWKs we are talking about the HB268F.665
is this a good price:
Amazon Amazon

Napa website is not working for me, the AZ or other places don't seem to have them, and if they do, they are more expensive, what do you think?
