Heated seats question?

I am thinking of purchasing a 2002 or 2003 Maxima Gle or se. All the cars I have seen have a leather interior and power seats, but they were not heated. I want to know how hard is it to add heated seats. I have done a search on the forum and found some people saying the wiring is under the center console. Does that mean that the leather seats have the heater element in them already and just need to be hooked up. Any information on what to do or tell me if my thoughts are right please chime in. T

You would need to change the seats and add the on/off switches in the console. The wiring to the switches is in the console. I don't know if the wiring between the seat and the switches comes with the seat.

Do you live in Cali or something? In Oregon, you'd be hard pressed to find any decent car with leather that didn't have heated seats.... Hell, even cloth seat Subaru's come with heated seats!

No they do not have the heating elements in them. All come "prewired" meaning all you need to add are the switches and fuse.

You can buy an aftermarket kit and use the said switches that come with OR use the OEM switches with the kit - both ways work well. Either way, I'd recommend using the stock wiring to make everything simplified.
