Man I've been trying to get my hands on some of those aftermarket clear glass lenses forever. They were all over the eBay for the longest then just suddenly dried up and are nowhere to be found now
Betcha if I try to order them they'll email me weeks/months later and say they aren't available. I've tried to buy them from probably half a dozen vendors over the past couple of years and they are absolutely completely unavailable even though all these places still list them on their sites. Sort of like the Tokicos that some places still list as available.
Should email them before and make sure they actually have them on hand.
Just checked, they're drop shipped from the manufacturer. They checked with the manufacturer and they're discontinued. I really wish all these places would remove their listings
Yeah well i found 1 listing on ebay for clear corners. lol.

yeah but what they're saying is a couple years from now you probably wont be able to find them, the clear corners that is
James there is somewhere that will take your stock lens and make a clear replica, but i fear its only plastic, tho I dont know for sure. Dont even know where it is I read it on hidplanet a lot...People will mention it when describing their setup etc, think its around $120?

Surely it's plastic, which I don't need. I would be shocked if custom one-off glass lenses could be manufactured for that little. I have plastic lenses now. Even though the plastic is holding up well after 8 years I've been wanting to re-do the setup in all glass but guess I'm SOL now.

Well yes and no - most people who did the E36 conversion just left the BMW lenses on the headlights which doesn't quite fit the Maxima. Depending on the skill of the install you can negate that some but it still doesn't fit quite right. The overall shape of the lights are about the same, yes, but unless you're oblivious you can generally spot an E36 conversion a mile away and the lights definitely look like they don't belong. It just generally looks very jerry-rigged.
So, on my BMW light conversion I did 8 years ago now, I cut off the lenses of the BMW headlight, and used the center section of clear Wade bug/rock guards as the new "front" of my housing (as the Wade covers were made for the Maxima, they have the exact shape of the stock Maxima headlights). I then used ABS plastic and lots of plastic weld/fabrication to complete the housings (see the pics below - they're fully sealed, waterproof, one piece headlights and do not fog or leak). They've held up great over all these years, I'm just wanting to re-do them in glass but it's looking like I'm SOL.

I saw your pics in the FS thread and they're definitely E36 housings and not 3rd gen housings. Just out of curiosity, got any pics of them on the previous owner's car?
