Max Cig Light shorted out smoked n now no Gauge cluster lights..

got a 99 maxima and my cig lighter dont work so i cut only the positive wire n ran thin wire from my amp up to the cig lighter to charge my phone well some how it grounded out started smoking n caught fire for split second,i got it out and traced wire back into the harness and found the wire burnt up i cut it all out n left the good wire just their cut short. It blew my Cigarete Lighter fuse i Replaced it and still my Gauge Cluster Lights Will Not Come On At All,What Could Be Wrong?

The Parking Lights work Fine from what i see only the Gauge Cluster Lights Not Working and the Little Lights on the Power Window Buttons Not Glowing No More...

Any Suggestions?

Check your 7.5A fuses.

The cigarette lighter and the dash lights are on different fuses so normally what happens to one of them will not affect the other. But what could have happened is that the burning cigarette lighter wire may have melted throught the dash light wire. You will have to examine the other wires very carefully and see if this happened. It could be a red/blue stripe wire or a red/white stripe wire, solid green wire, but check them all.

What source were you grabbing power from on your amp? The remote turn on? If so where is that getting power from?
The most probable cause if all the fuses are good for no cluster lights is a blown dimmer switch.
