waterpump orings will not seal

I did a headgasket fix and I cannot get new orings to seal... I now have 3 sets of new orings and the last failed when then engine got up to temp... how can I seal the inner seal forever?

I think there are 2 or 3 write-ups on here that should give you a clue. Probably not seating them correctly but as I am not there I can not say

I'm sure you know the two o-rings are differnt diameters not tryng to be a smart ****. Once you have them on the water pump correctly you have to be careful not to nick them while installing the pump. I usually put a light seam of grease over the o-rings to help them find their way into the cavitiy.

This. The slightly bigger o-ring goes toward the teeth and the slightly smaller gone goes toward the propellar side of the pump.
