as stated in the title. the power locks and remote entry unlock/lock doesnt work anymore. seemed like it went bad over night. everything is fine just have to use key to open the car. what can be the cause behind this?

 

I'd start with fuses and work from there. you have fuse boxes under the dash AND in the engine compartment. Check both.

If you open the covers there should be a diagram that will show what each fuse is for. Also check the FSM. Here's a link if you don't have one. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

 

If you are looking to reprogram your remote, these are the steps

1.Get in & lock the doors
2.Insert the key into the ignition 6 times within 15 seconds
3.Hazard lights should flash
4.Put key back into the ignition & turn to Accessory
5.Press the master door lock (on drivers door arm rest) unlock/lock
6.Hit the lock button on the remote
7.Hazards should flash
8.Pull key out and open the drivers door and then close it
9.It should be set

 

He said his power locks don't work at all. That's not a programming issue.

 

and today i noticed that he rear defroster isnt working. is this signs of things to come or just sheer coincidence

 

all the fuses worked fine. i reset the secu and everything is back to normal! thanks everyone

 

I have same problem without power for door locks / rear defrog / indoor lights.
Can you describe how you reset the SECU box?
