what exhaust and intake to upgrade to?

im not sure which exhaust to get, i was looking at the aam competition exhaust but its very pricey, would it be worth the cost? also i was thinking the flowmasters exhaust based on the cheaper price of the exhaust and it sounds comparable to the aam. and for the intake i was thinking the stillen intake. please let me know what you guys think.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the flowmaster system you'd have to use is the 40 series. And as far as I know it's not specifically designed for the 7th Gen Max.

I think there are only a few Max's with flow masters. They sound ok on youtube.

The AAM exhaust was specifically customized for the Maxima by a company that specializes in aftermarket products for the GTR. I think that fact alone speaks for itself.

You're absolutely right about the cost but in the end it's your car. It would just suck to be second guessing yourself once you have it bolted on.

Personally, I liked the AAM system the best.

Couldn't tell you too much about personal exp with an intake, yet.

I personally think the K & N intake is your best bet you will feel the difference and will also add some nice sound. Check out my car domain for my install pics

I have heard all the exhausts in person..that Means..Flowmasters, Stillen, Borla, Megan, and AAM.

My Favorite one has to be the AAM. The blue tips on the car are very beautiful..and the exhaust sound is amazing.

As for Intake..I think most of them all are the same. You could make a true CAI..it'll take time..and personally I have no time to do such things for very slight gains. I am running an Injen intake..which was recommended by Ghozt..I like it a lot..and the sound is great..all intakes sound the same to me though..so eh.

Do you notice any power gains from the Injen or just better intake sounds?

I've got the Injen intake. The gains aren't really there until you get up over 40-50 mph IMO. I'd say that the gains are really only noticeable when driving slightly aggressive. If you're the type of driver who never really likes to get your rpm's up, it won't do much for you. For me though, I've been really happy with it. And the sound is a nice addition at all speeds.

Btw, the same could be said for probably any aftermarket intake for our cars, not just the Injen.

^Agreed with what Serpent said. I drive aggressively..Live my life like its Need for Speed in real life..So I notice a little gain..but the sound is just nice..and when I put it in CVT and keep going like the energizer bunny..my boys are like I heard a loud roar swoop by us..I am like RACE CAR
