I was wondering what color are the grilles, GXE and GLE, when you have the gold package? are they still chrome? i saw one with a gold grille once and i cant recall ever seeing another, it was kinda strange...

when u say gold package do u mean the gold plating??? or the premium package for the max??

 

What about the SE models. I have the SE model with the gold package on it. I bought it without the gold package and had it done later.

It all depends on the dealer. They usually have a gold plating company come in and do it. Sometimes they do just the emblems on the car, sometimes they also so the wheel centercaps and engine emblems and sometimes the do anything that is chrome.

 

One of my neighbors used to have a Maxima GLE with the gold package. The emblems were gold, along with the window trim, door handles, and center caps. I can't recall about the grille, but every time I saw the car I thought it was gaaayy. Most Maximas JUST have the emblems done in gold, and the antenna nub, thats what my mothers white 98 Maxima SE had, didnt look too good.

 

I'm not big on gold. I think it makes the car gaudy and cheap so I wouldn't get it (unless your master P or something). Before I took the emblems off my car I had them plated black onyx like the 5th gens. That looked pretty good.

also i figured it was just emblems, thats why i was surprised when i saw that one w/ a gold grille, it didnt look right

I have a 97 GLE with the gold package. it includes all emblems in gold, and gold pin strip down the lenth of the car. Shaved the emblems off the trunk

 

im glad im not the only one here that understands

 

My SE came with the gold package and lame pin stripes....I hate it.

Even the damn door locks are gold.
