Very quick question!
Very quick question!
I've been looking for 350z five spokes and a local put some up for sale at a STEAL! I am worried about them fitting though. My stock wheels are 15x6 and his (all four) are 18x8.5 according to him. I'm thinking theyd be big and possibly too big as I'm looking to drop it soon too.
The guy says we have the same offset and bolt pattern (could anyone confirm this? )
Would they be worth it? All four for $300 are a darn good deal, but I don't want the wheels to look HUGE
If it helps, heres a picture of my car :

Thanks in advance!

Fitmentwise I believe I've seen them on a few 3rd gens, dunno how they do when the car is lowered though.
8.5 wide sounds kinda pushing it.... most people don't go wider than a 235 or 245 45R15 tire on a 17x8 rim. Rim height being only semi-relevant, i'm not sure if that 0.5" will be the straw that breaks the camel's back but the offset will need to be PERFECT. If it's too low, they will poke, and you'll be in trouble. If it's too high (which I doubt) then you may be able to salvage the fitment with spacers.
See if he can take pictures of the insides of the wheels, USUALLY the size and offset is printed in there somewhere. Also do they already have tires on them? If not he can actually check the width (inside of the bead area, not the outside lip) himself.

5 spoke Z wheels, are you talking about these?

If so, he has 4 rear wheels? The fronts on those wheels were 8" wide. So if he's certain all of his are 8.5" that means he has two sets of rears.
Hadman, an old member here had them on his 3rd gen. They fit perfectly with no spacers. But then again he had the 8's up front and 8.5's in the rear. Not sure how the 8.5's up front would have fit. Obviously the stock Z tires on those would be a no go.
Also, $300 bucks? Man those went for $1000+ just a few years ago. Funny how the times change.
*edit* here's a thread about those wheels

Wow thanks i didn't even consider that! Just a serious question though, a deal like this wont come around again, should i go for them or would 8.5s definitely be too big?
you just have to make sure whether it's a set of 4 8.5's or 2 8's and 2 8.5's as that may affect your results. As good of a deal as they are, if they are in good shape, go ahead and get them. If they don't work, sell them. The only sucky part about that is you DO have to buy your own tires (of a certain size which will fit, as hadman did) and people looking for those wheels may or may not want the tires that are already on them. And you may or may not have to try and sell the tires separately.
As is true with any car, the wider the wheel, the more exactly-perfect the offset has to be. Look how the numbers in the "wheels" chart for Z31's get closer together the wider the wheel gets. (the concept is universal but these numbers are specific to a z31) http://www.az-zbum.com/information.w...nd.tires.shtml

8.5's fitting up front? I suspect they would probably be fine with the proper tires. But don't go by my speculation, test them yourself. Surely the guy will let you try them on?
I would still be surprised if he actually has two sets of rears. He might just be mistaken.
I just picked up a set of those wheels, no tires, for $80. Some curb rash on one but can't beat the price. Might be selling my stock se rims. But I'm in KY. Now to decide whether to paint/powdercoat or not.
