16" or 17" wheels - that is the question

I am getting a deal on momo wheels, and decided to buy the "Sport" model, but haven't decided on the size of the wheel - 16 or 17 inch. So I would like some input from the real-world experiences of some that of tried one or the other, or both.

Some pertinent facts
====================

I've also am considering getting Yokohama dB's once I decide on the size wheel to buy.

I will be getting adjustable struts (KYB AGX).

I have a '97 with 193k miles and no performance mods as of yet, but the usual y-pipe seems to be on the hot list.

I should also mention that I occasionally tow a trailer with a couple of dirt bikes on board.

Thanks in advance

If you want handling go with 17. If you want a nice blend of performance and ride comfort, get 16's with a nice performance tire.

Why 17s:
- 17's look better
- better handling with a good tire

Why 16s:
- cheaper
- cheaper tires
- better for all season (dry, wet, snow) as most 17s, even high performance all season ones will suck in moderate snow
- quieter ride
- tires take longer to wear out
- more comfortable, smooth ride
- weigh less
- will not give you as much of the 4X4 look as 17s will, if your car is not lowered...

Yes, I got 16s
If/when I lower the car, I will just go for 18s.

The bot is right once again, 18's or nothing..

I put 17's on last night, the ride noise is higher and the car is bouncier, looks tight and handles better though. 18's are next..
